Trails in the Bitterroot
Welcome to the The Como Trails. These trails and website are a work in progress. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. The trails are only 20 minutes south of Hamilton, pet friendly and free of charge. Come ski or snowshoe over 30 miles of scenic groomed roads in the winter and hike or mountain bike various trails in the summer.
About the Como Trails Club Inc.
Como Trails Club Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of recreational use of the Lake Como/Little Rock Creek area including, hiking, mountain biking and Nordic skiing. In cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, the Club maintains the Como Trails area. This area is 3 miles west of Darby, Montana, between Lake Como Recreational Area and Tin Cup Canyon. Between Dec. 1 thru March 31, the 30+ miles of Como Trails are groomed for skate and classic skiing. Grooming occurs weekly or more depending on snow conditions. Maps will be provided at the trailhead and local businesses. Use of the trails is free and dog friendly.
The Club will strive to promote recreational events. In the winter, the Club will sponsor Nordic skiing events such as clinics, demos and races . Summer events include mountain biking and off road triathlons.
The Club will hold meetings at the beginning of each ski season, in the spring at the end of the ski season, and beginning of summer events. Any public meetings will be posted in the papers, related websites, e-mailed, phone called, etc.
Grooming reports will be posted at missoulanordic.org on the snow-grooming pages.
To keep up with the rest of the world, Como Trails Club is also on Facebook. Photos and updates are often posted here. Check it out!
If you would like to join the club please click on the "Members/Donate" tab at the top of this webpage. We only have a paper/mail-in form as of the moment. Stick with us as we arrange for on-line registration. If you have any questions about the Club's activities, or trails, please contact Tony Neaves at 1-406-381-3943.
